  1. Awesome video guys, love the format! I also don’t agree with this pay-to-win strategy that’s been surely cropping up in a lot of games. As much as I love the Dead Space series, I hate that EA is (most probably) forcing Visceral to add these micro-transactions to make it appeal to broader audience (wow, aren’t we all a little sick of that tag-line by now?!) and also to make a buck or two more.

I do think that in the end, EA doesn’t care if you buy the game now or in six weeks, as long as they get their money they’re happy. Sure it won’t reflect well on their first day or first month sales, but if you really want to send them a message, then just don’t buy the game…at all. “Speak with your wallet” as they say. The worst kind of gamer is the gamer who moans about an ending, micro-transactions, the price of DLC and “already-on-disc” DLC and STILL go out and pay for it time and time again.

On the other hand, I do understand the situation. Studios are closing left and right. Just look at Activision, they had great games that just sold poorly, no doubt partly due to a lot of gamers just buying second-hand copies. If micro-transactions could have saved the Darksiders franchise then I say let them have their cake. Who would have thought that Activision, once giant publisher is now no more. Not even the mighty EA is safe anymore.

Another thing, even though multiplayer has been a part of the series since DS2, I can’t help but feel that this is still primarily a singleplayer game where paid multiplayer boosters and unlocks or whatever won’t affect your experience. Personally, I probably wouldn’t have touched the multiplayer anyway.

    Just my two rupees.

Keep up the good work guys!
