We’ve all heard console games eventually making their way to the iPhone but to have it the other way around is something that is relatively new to the game world. Flight Control, Firemint’s popular iPhone game debuted almost a year ago and has recently made a jump to the iPad where is has been equally popular. Now that it’s all grown up, it will be leaving its Apple home and will be available for download on the PSN for Playstation 3 on September 15.
The game premise is that you have to direct and land incoming planes by using the touch display to draw flight paths, avoiding collisions as you go along. The Playstation 3 version will make use of the Motion controller and will also bring 1080p support as well as a four player drop in/out mode. It will also have an exclusive map names “Metropolis”.
We are very excited to play this game in the PS3 but we are even more excited about the possibilities the Motion controller will present to game developers. This may mean that iPhone and iPad games may not only be limited to touch based devices and provide excellent opportunities to small game developers in the future.
