The Dark Art of PC Gaming

There are many reasons console gaming has become so popular over the last ten or so years. Least of which isn’t that the three console giants spending billions of dollars on marketing, exclusivity deals and movie and TV-show tie-ins. Factor in the success of motion and touch gaming with the Wii, Kinect and iDevices and it’s easy to understand why people turn to their living room for their gaming fix.

Driver San Francisco Review: A fantastic experience

Driver began its road raging life as a sibling of GTA. The game was seemingly inspired by the 1978 film “The Driver” where an astute driver must prove his driving skills to a bunch of gangsters. It’s been 12 years since the game arrived to our consoles and has always had inspiration from 1970′s car chase movies at it’s heart.

Understanding the relationship between Driver and GTA explains why the title has been stuck in it’s shadow for so long. GTA innovated while Driver desperately tried to keep up. 12 years later the developers at Ubisofts Reflections studio dropped the whole “chase” thing and decided to invent their own pie all together.

Rage HD Review (iPhone)

Rage HD is easily the best looking fps game we’ve seen on the iPhone and provides a stunning example of just how far the hardware on the iPhone 4, iPad and 4th gen iPod Touch can be pushed with some exceedingly smart development. Even though it’s somewhat of a teaser game for the upcoming Rage HD PC game, it does not fail to satisfy in the leased and will provide a somewhat addictive lust for splattering mutant blood all over the walls and floor.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II – Review

It’s safe to say that there is going to be a lot of disappointed Star Wars: Force Unleashed fans out there once they get their hands on the sequel. With improvements far and few between from the first game and a story that seems written by someone who has no insight into soul of the Star Wars saga, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 is sadly lacking the midichlorians it needs to be one with the force.
